Eileen Cleary has just been nominated for Catholic Woman of the year when her family drop a bombshell. Over the dinner table she discovers that not only is her son leaving his wife and children for the local beautician, but her daughter is 5 months pregnant and about to marry her girlfriend.

Desperate to win the award, Eileen is conflicted between shame over her family and still desiring to do the right thing by them. Unable to accept either of their choices her family begins to splinter, with even her husband threatening to leave. Ultimately this is a feel-good movie and Eileen proves herself to be a person worthy of both the award and her family.

Ringkasan Cerita FILM KAIJI: THE ULTIMATE GAMBLER (2009) :

Kaiji Ito adalah seorang pemuda yang pindah ke Jepang setelah lulus sekolah. Di Jepang dia tidak mendapatkan pekerjaan dan sangat frustasi pada kehidupan sosialitas yang sangat besar. Akhirnya Kaiji menghabiskan waktunya dengan berjudi, merusak mobil dan mabuk-mabukan

2 tahun kemudian dimana kehidupannya tidak semakin membaik. Seorang penagih hutang bernama Endo datang dan meminta Kaiji untuk membayar hutang-hutangnya. Si penagih hutang tersebut memberikan Kaiji 2 pilihan: menghabiskan 10 tahun hidupnya untuk membayar hutangnya atau ikut dalam sebuah pertandingan judi dalam sebuah kapal pesiar dalam semalam untuk mengembalikan hutang dan kemungkinan besar menang banyak.

Sementara dalam kenyataannya si penagih hutang ini hanya menipu Kaiji dan percaya kalau Kaiji tak akan pernah kembali dari perjalanannya. Di tempat lain di dalam pelayaran Kaiji berjibaku untuk tetap mempertahankan hidupnya.

Fred Schepisi’s familial drama The Eye of the Storm stars Charlotte Rampling as Elizabeth Hunter, the wealthy, dying mother to Basil (Geoffrey Rush) a successful actor, and Dorothy (Judy Davis), who exists on the money she made when she divorced a low-level member of Italian royalty. The children arrive at the mother’s estate, hoping to get some cash from mom, and also make peace with the hurts she inflicted on them when they were teenagers. For her part, Elizabeth keeps playing mind games with her kids up to the very end. The film played at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival.
